Job Summary:

The General Accounting Specialist will oversee the company’s financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger entries. The expectation is to perform the duties and responsibilities with a high level of accuracy.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Receive, record and process bills for payment.

· Create invoices and submit to customers.

· Perform daily cash management duties, including the recording of bank deposits and posting of cash to the accounts receivable sub-ledger.

· Resolve discrepancies between customer invoices and payments received.

· Create and post standard journal entries.

· Reconcile accounts and close the monthly books.

· Run monthly balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

· Basic accounting knowledge

· Data entry skills

· Confidentiality

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software and accounting software

Education and Experience:

· At least three years of related experience required.

· Any post-secondary education is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
